As I got ready for my friend Claire's wedding last Friday, it dawned on me that I don't usually wear LBD's to special occasions. I tend to gravitate toward color and fun, but I seemed to have forgotten the level of "Breakfast at Tiffany'sness" a nice, simple black dress can create. Who's never pictured themselves in the shoes - and dresses - of Holly Golightly? Not to mention the whole slimming ordeal - and who doesn't love that?!

The secret to spruce up one of these little numbers is to land on the right accessories. I went with gold tones on the jewelry and a patent finish on the clutch and shoes. Kept the hair simple but had fun with a smokey eye.

So there you have it: The little black dress that could... dance all night long!

Let's talk about my makeup skills for a sec, though, AMIRITE?!
